NEXTGEN Aviators

for Schools and Educators

Give clarity and guidance to secure a solid future.

Help inspire young people to dream big, discover pathways, and turn those dreams into achievable goals.

The technical workforce is a world of excitement, adventure, and freedom. Very successful careers in a good paying field with tremendous growth opportunity are awaiting your students. Employers have job openings waiting to be filled and industry needs are projected to continue to grow. Introduce your students to the career opportunities available in multiple industries. Help them dream and reach their goals.

Why Technical Workforce?

Many attainable career options, but it is so much more.

Each year, more and more baby boomers are retiring while industries grow. This is creating increased employment opportunities. However, beyond employment, these careers also offer excitement and fulfillment, and provides meaningful and important work. Perhaps most importantly to you, as an educator, aviation provides a firm foundation for both STEM lessons and needed trade skills.

Sending your students to a NEXTGEN Aviators experience enables them to engage in aviation activities they never knew existed. This novel and exciting experience generates better engagement and an eagerness to learn more, enabling you to connect new concepts to real and exciting experiences. This, in turn, helps them better understand and apply these related science and math concepts.

Education and Aviation go hand in hand.

Education or training does one of two things: it prepares us to work, or it prepares us to be better citizens. So does aviation.

It’s absolutely true that aviation cannot exist without proper education – particularly the math, science, and other technical skills which enable flight. But it may also be said that aviation and travel help educate us.

Whether it’s the languages we learn to fly to foreign lands or the perspectives we gain when we’re exposed and connected to those foreign lands, travel expands our horizons and helps inform our world.

So, when you provide a student with a NEXTGEN Aviators experience, you are both educating them now and providing them the WORLD of learning that comes with the global aviation community.

Case Studies

Anthony Whitehead

Combining over 25 years of experience in aviation and training with a master’s degree in education, Anthony uniquely understands how NEXTGEN Aviators best serves teachers and education professionals. He has eagerly contributed his wealth of knowledge and know-how to develop NEXTGEN Aviators into an event that simultaneously serves teenagers, teachers, and the tech trades.

Before:
There was no hands-on, STEM-supportive program that came to your area based around the exhilarating experience that is aviation. You lacked a program that excited your students and generated sufficient enthusiasm around STEM curricula. Without this excitement and enthusiasm, it was often difficult to entice them to further engage with STEM concepts and content.
After:

An exciting program now exists, coming to your local area. When you bring your students to a NEXTGEN Aviators event, they will perform hands-on activities based on real-life applications. They will be guided through a series of experiences encompassing several aviation careers. Some will be intrigued by the engineering and design. Some will be attracted to the metal working or the electronics. Others will be highly engaged with the art of aeronautics, as they fly the simulator or experience the exhilaration of flight for the first time.

Regardless of which of these interests your students, all of them are fantastic foundations upon which you can build STEM curricula.

Anthony said:

“As our Dynamic Aviation team built the NEXTGEN Aviators experience, we knew we had to keep this one thing in focus: it had to be engaging not just on a cognitive level, but on an emotional one, as well.

Our team designed this event to grab their attention with the excitement of aviation. But we then provide real relevance through authentic job applications and a hands-on, take-home project they construct using the skills they’re learning throughout. This gives them a sense of accomplishment and self-confidence, which helps motivate them to learn more. Having an experience these teenagers enjoy and are willing to talk about is just as key as one which educates them. It reduces their resistance and facilitates great follow-on discussion and engagement.

Regardless of the specific STEM content you need to address, it is all here to build upon; including:

  •  the simple-but-precise mathematics involved in designing and machining aircraft parts
  • the more complex mathematics which explain or enable aircraft engineering and flight vectors and speed
  • the basic earth sciences of weather which affect flight capabilities
  • the science of magnetism that affects navigation abilities
  • the more complex sciences associated with engineering, such as material density, power-to-weight ratios, heat transfer, etc.

Together, we can use aviation as the spark to profoundly change the way our youth view many skilled trades.
